People are crazy. Not stupid

Take a look at these pictures….This is my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Max. He’s a dog breed that people want to ban to keep. He’s a dog breed people are afraid of. He’s a 10 month puppy that people avoid.

I get that some people just don’t like dogs and that’s perfectly fine. I promise I’m not aiming this at you. I can be more specific: I’m aiming this at a woman I encountered while walking my dog around a lake where a lot of people walk their dogs. Most dog owners will chat with you, acknowledge you…(Basically positive social interactions) But this one woman decided to pick her little rat dog up (normally small dogs are cute but I think you can see what I’m getting at) It’s fine if she wants to carry her dog around a lake where you walk a dog but hey who’s judging?…But what’s not fine if she says to me directly; a stranger, “I’ll carry my dog otherwise yours will rip its head off.” Normally id ignore that crap but this woman said it. She didn’t think it.

I know that there are plenty of cases where pittbulls, staffys, rottweilers….etc. Have had to be destroyed in the past because they’ve attacked people. And okay that I guess I agree with, if it was someone I knew or my child I wouldn’t stop until that dog was destroyed. First of all ANY dog can be pushed too far. Want to know why it’s mainly young people who get attacked? Because they don’t understand what ANY dog can do. They don’t know the dangers…They see it as a cute dog they are going to go towards and pet. If that dog gets intimidated it will defend itself. Come on, people defend themselves! Just because you own a dog with a bad reputation doesn’t mean that it’s going to kill you. If you raise a dog right, you’ve got no worry. If you raise it wrong, it’s your fault the dog got vicious not the dog.

I understand that some people are reading this thinking that I’m going on false motivation and I’m biased. Think again. I’m no different to you. I have my views; you have yours. Staffordshire bull terriers were originally bred as fighting dogs. It’s in their blood. You still have to train it to fight. Do you really think that as soon as it’s born it’s going to run around biting people. That’s bollocks! I understand I’m going to get some form of abuse for this, from someone who knows someone attacked by a dog? Let me tell you in advance…I know someone too. Maybe that will change your mind. No? well then imagine how you’d feel if you were being stereotyped..

A word of advice for that woman: Don’t judge a book by its cover…..Woman down the lake, this post is for you.

Most of us have seen how technology has changed significantly over the years; In both medical and personal use. This changes our lives and our lifestyle. Technology is moving on so fast that we can’t keep up. There’s always going to be a time where you buy a laptop or a phone and in just a few weeks, it would’ve gone out of date. This isn’t our fault and we might not see the new technology for a number of months but it really does make you think about how it is all going to affect our lives in the future.

There are already technology advances in robotics; Robots designed to enhance our lives and well-being. But will they? We already have robots in our homes…We have automated vacuum cleaners, webcam rovers… the list goes on and proves that we’ll have bigger and better robots at some point. They’ll follow the normal marketing layout: First they will go into CEO’s and the big bosses of technology companies. Different companies will create ‘their own’ version of it that isn’t different at all but that’s how we work. We buy the brand in most cases and not the product and that could be one of our flaws since sometimes the best brand isn’t always the best product. So anyway, when these new ‘versions’ have been created they will start to trickle in through successful business persons, and the upper class and then filter through to everyone else. If you don’t agree, then get smart because it’s fact and not just somebody stirring the pot. If you’re still not convinced look at the first televisions, mobile phones even games consoles. Everyone uses them as status symbols and it’s just going to take one time where we rely so much on technology that when there comes a time of mass malfunction…we’re all stuffed. You don’t think it will? Well then your’e going to be one of the people most affected.

Most of us who use social networking sites probably already know what the positive and negative effects of using them. We all know that they mainly keep us in touch with friends and family far away. Since social networking sites we have stopped bothering to use the phone and actually call someone up and say “Hey, thought I’d call for a chat…” and then we’d spend hours on end talking to someone on the phone. These days that idea has gone out of the window for many people. Not just because it’s free to use but because we are now a generation that has the magical thing called the Internet that we now use everyday of our lives. If the whole point in socializing with people is to interact with them; Hey we may as well do it in the comfort of our own homes where we don’t have to worry about people judging the layout and decor. We can easily ‘socialize’ with people with a cup of tea next to us and not have to say a word out loud. I’m all for social networking sites… Hell, I use a lot of them myself but at some point it’s going to get out of hand and we all know that it’s going to be soon, whether we want to admit it or not.

Sites like Facebook and Twitter are so easy to access by everyone and the world knows it. There are so many dangers out there on networking sites for young people and even adults that it can often get out of hand. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but society is starting to get more and more paranoid about people in the real world that they wouldn’t necessarily look into as much if they were looking at a computer screen. It’s easier said than done when it comes to protecting people online but it’s not like there isn’t help out there (some of which is included at the bottom of this entry). We need more sensibility, we need more order and we need people to start protecting their children online. Sure, there’s age restrictions on social networking sites but let’s be honest: It doesn’t take a genius to change the date of birth when you’re filling in a capture form to sign up for the sites. We need to start protecting people and we need to do it now otherwise how is it going to end?

Facebook is the main site for connecting people. Colleagues, friends, family any random stranger from a different country that people will stupidly accept just because the temptation is there. The trend I find the most amusing is when people start dating and it can only be made ‘official’ if they change their relationship status. This is where it’s going to start to get out of hand…A lot of people have already claimed that they found out that their partners were cheating on them through networking sites.  Some people have even claimed that they found out through Facebook that their partner was leaving them when they changed their relationship status from ‘married’ to ‘single’. So do we think it will end there? Or will it come a time where people stop bothering to go outside? Will there be online weddings? Online divorces perhaps? Only time will tell so sit back and enjoy the ride because people are crazy.
